Take It Off Testimonial
Christine Boccanfuso, Manasquan
Coach: Lisa Kavitt
I got started with the Take It Off Weight Loss Program from becoming a new member at the Atlantic Club in Manasquan. I joined the club as an attempt to yet again get myself in shape. After two pregnancies, somewhat close together and a 50 lb weight gain with the second, I began to feel depressed and defeated. I decided I had to start putting myself and my health higher on the list of priorities.
I came to the Take It Off Weight Loss Program with some knowledge of exercise and weight loss. Prior to my recent pregnancies, I was an avid “gym goer” and health conscious person. I never drank coffee, ate pizza, or McDonalds. All of which were now a norm rather than the exception. I tried several times to lose the weight through other diet programs on my own, but always seemed to lose 2 lbs only to gain 5 back. I couldn’t stay motivated or focused. Year after year would pass with my self image and confidence turning more to depression and despair of never being the person I once was.
I joined Take It Off as a final effort in my mind to finally lose the last 10 – 15 lbs I needed to fit back in the clothes and styles I used to wear. I wanted the positive self image I once had again. I wanted to feel good about myself in the clothes I wore. I didn’t’ want to worry about the belly fat anymore. I knew my diet was not what I t once was and I wanted to learn how to “eat right” again.
After three months of following the program, I can say it was the best decision I ever made. The program was easy to follow and I never felt hungry. The quick and easy recipes were the change I needed in my diet routine to keep me motivated. The biggest problem that I have, that always kept me from sticking to a diet plan was my job and hours I maintain. I work twelve hour days sometimes with no break for lunch or dinner. I often would find myself home after work at 8:30 pm famished. I would grab whatever I could find which was usually the box of Oreo cookies. Lisa, my coach, was always there to help with a solution to these problematic situations to get me through. The bars and shakes were perfect for me on the run at work, to keep me from getting to that starvation point.
I have lost about 10 lbs and feel absolutely fabulous! The amount of weight was never a significant part of my starting this program. I am grateful for not being turned away due to not having the significant weight to lose. Many programs want you to have at least 20 lbs of weight loss to join. I wanted a program to help me get back on track eating healthy and feeling good about myself. The Take It Off Program did just that. I feel good about myself and have much more energy. The oldest of my three children is 17. we now compare waistlines and biceps.
If I had to give inspirational advice to someone wanting to lose weight, I would say, “to create the future life and ‘you’ you want… plan it out, stay consistent, and watch it become reality!”
