Personal Bio

The students know me as “Mr. Matt” and I have been playing piano since I was four years old. I graduated with high honors from Rutgers University, receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in music and a minor in psychology. I’m a trained vocalist whose primary instrument is the piano but I also play ukulele, guitar, bass, drums, mandolin, accordion and organ. Fun fact – I started as a student in Creative Campus (now Atlantis Prep School) when I was two years old and worked at The Atlantic Club when I was a teenager. Aside from teaching students, I perform at children’s birthday parties and community events. My wife Jennifer and I have a son, Maxwell who attended Atlantis Prep. Like all parents who want the best for their children, we fully understand the vital importance of early education, especially with music. Our music classes will be filled with singing, dancing, games and constant interaction, providing an amazingly fun time for the students while simultaneously teaching and reinforcing so many important mental, physical and social skills. Utilizing the benefits of early music education, I hope to help equip the students with the important tools necessary to carry them confidently through their education and beyond.
